MILAN, Italy - A video of a Filipino domestic worker from Italy who contracted the coronavirus disease while in Switzerland with her employer is circulating online.

The five-minute video of Jenny (not her real name) which she shared to friends, made the rounds on social media causing anxiety and worry among Filipinos.

In the video, Jenny shared that she tested positive for the coronavirus disease while accompanying her employer in Switzerland for a vacation.

Symptoms like fever, severe headache, and sore throat manifested almost a week before she taped the video.

Her employer later found out about her sickness and paid a private doctor to check on her condition. The domestic worker was later isolated and had to stay in the basement of her employer’s vacation house.

A close friend also confirmed Jenny’s condition in an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN, and that she was transferred to a bigger isolation facility on Monday.

"Positive talaga, nasa ospital na siya sa Switzerland," the friend claimed.

ABS-CBN News also reached out to Jenny’s family but they refused to give a statement for privacy reasons.

Another friend shared Jenny’s plea to anyone who has shared her video to just delete it due to sensitive information like her employer’s name and the hospital she is confined in.

The friend also shared how Jenny's heart condition and heavy workload made her more vulnerable to the virus.

"Talagang before mapayat na siya tapos based sa experience ko dun sa trabaho doon medyo overwork," the friend said.
