KIEV - Ukraine's prosecutor's office and security service have asked Iranian authorities to give Kiev black boxes from the crashed Ukrainian plane, the prosecutor's office said on Wednesday.
A top Ukraine security official said this week that a senior investigator from Iran was expected to visit Ukraine soon and determine whether a Ukrainian laboratory would be suitable to work on the black boxes.
Iran earlier admitted it had shot down the plane by accident as it had flown close to a sensitive military site belonging to the elite Revolutionary Guards.
All 176 on board were killed.
The incident followed Iranian missile strikes on US targets in Iraq- its response to America's assassination of Iranian general Qasem Soleimani near the Baghdad airport on January 3.
