DFA to help kin of OFW stabbed dead in Saudi Arabia

MANILA - The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Tuesday said it will assist in the repatriation of the body of a Filipino migrant worker who was stabbed to death in Saudi Arabia.

The victim was identified as Monico Basco Manansala from Sasmuan, Pampanga who worked as a subcontractual worker for Rimal Alswahel Co.

In a statement, Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Adnan Alonto assured the victim's relatives that the embassy will "exert every effort" to serve justice.

The DFA said the overseas Filipino worker was stabbed by a fellow Filipino at their shared accommodation.

Authorities have not disclosed the suspect's name. The case is under investigation by Saudi police and the Philippine embassy.
