Typhoon Ursula damages Kalibo airport

Partial solar eclipse seen in Manila
A partial solar eclipse as seen from the PAGASA Astronomical Observatory in UP Diliman in Quezon City on Thursday. Astronomy enthusiasts in Metro Manila were treated with a partial solar eclipse, while skywatchers in Mindanao and other parts of Asia witnessed the annular solar eclipse called “ring of fire,” where the moon covers the center of the sun.
