SLIDESHOW: Annular solar eclipse captivates sky gazers

Millions around the world went out to witness another celestial treat with the first of the two annular solar eclipses this year. The eclipse was visible from Africa, Southeast Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Micronesia. 

The eclipse, which began at 3:01 and ended at 5:31 in the afternoon, was visible in the Philippines with Itbayat, Batanes seeing 91 percent of the sun covered while Metro Manila saw 68 percent covering.
