With millions of Filipinos voting in the mid-term elections in a few days, political parties try to woo voters during the homestretch of a grueling campaign.

Leading political parties are set to hold their traditional miting de avance, the last big gathering to push their platforms.

Instead of a miting de avance, though, opposition slate Otso Diretso on Wednesday held a concert for volunteers and supporters called “ThisIs8 Grand Thanksgiving Event” at the Sunken Garden at University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City.

Continuous rains did not dampen the mood, as Color It Red, Noel Cabangon, True Faith and other musicians entertained the crowd, while the 8 candidates took turns speaking.

Vice-President Leni Robredo joined opposition Senators Francis Pangilinan, Risa Hontiveros, Franklin Drilon, and Antonio Trillanes IV at the event.
