An Aeta village in Porac, Pampanga was left in ruins following the 6.1-magnitude earthquake last April 22. Most of the permanent structures made of cement and hollow blocks were toppled or became unstable, forcing the community of around 700 families to evacuate.

While the spotlight remains on the supermarket destroyed by the temblor in Porac, two members of the community also died here while two others remain missing. It's not clear if these have been added to the official tally of 16 dead in the aftermath of the quake.

The residents said the earthquake reminded them of the Mt. Pinatubo eruption in 1991 where they also had to evacuate their ancestral lands. These Aeta families are now living in temporary tents they have set up outside the village.
