Pork sales slow down

A butcher looks at her unsold meat at the MC Adore Market in Dagupan, Pangasinan as vendors report at least a 50-percent decrease in pork meat sales. The vendors blame supposed inaccurate news reports about an “unknown disease” killing hogs, and insist on the safety of their products because of the city’s strict regulations. The Department of Agriculture announced on Monday that blood samples from dead pigs raised in backyard farms in Rizal province tested positive for African Swine Fever.
