4 students killed in separate Tacloban road accidents

Four students were killed in two separate accidents on Magsaysay Boulevard in Tacloban City early morning on Saturday.

TACLOBAN CITY — Four students were killed in two separate road accidents in Tacloban City early morning on Saturday.

According to Tacloban City Police, Roi Kim Arcenas, 18, and Ariboy Dela Cruz, 17, figured in an accident on Magsaysay Boulevard, fronting Bulwagan ng Katarungan.

Initial investigation showed the two victims were driving fast aboard a motorcycle. When they swerved left, they hit the center island and lost control. 

The two sustained head injuries and were rushed to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Ten minutes after the incident, two more people figured in an accident on Magsaysay Boulevard, fronting the city hall.

The motorcycle also hit the center island after it swerved right. Gail Arabes, 22, and Trever Barber, 20, were pronounced dead on arrival in the hospital.

Police said both Arabes and Barber were not wearing a helmet.
