CEBU CITY — Illegal drugs estimated to be worth P16 million were confiscated in separate sting operations conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Philippine National Police (PNP) in Cebu.

On Friday, PDEA conducted a buy-bust operation inside a pension house in Poblacion, Carcar City. Authorities arrested Ramilo Dayon, considered to be a high-value target, as well as companions Shiebert Lapinid and Strawberry Fernandez.

PDEA confiscated an estimated P12-million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as "shabu," from the group.

According to PDEA-7 regional director Yogi Felimon Ruiz, they monitored the group for three months prior to the operation.

The raid comes a day after PDEA and PNP-Cebu confiscated a stash of shabu estimated to be worth P4.1 million in a buy-bust operation in Pakigne, Minglanilla.

Ritchie Mariquit, Armand Tecson, Kevin Clark Delfin, and April Mariquit were arrested.

On the same night, a series of anti-drug operations by law enforcers in Barangay Mactan led to the arrest of Johnny Lagramada and Jorald Cablara, as well as the retrieval of shabu said to be worth P300,000.
