MANILA -- The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRCB) on Wednesday refused to receive the dashcam footage submitted by Partas Transportation Company in connection with the La Union accident that killed at least 20 people.
"Unfortunately the card cannot be read by an ordinary card reader. We did not accept the SD card; otherwise it might be on the shoulders of the LTFRB if there is any defect in the SD card. So we told them to give us the footage of the incident,” LTFRB board member and spokesperson Aileen Lizada said in a statement.
Lizada also said the LTFRB refused to receive the bus's black box that was submitted by Partas to the agency.
Partas gave the data a day after the LTFRB's deadline for submission lapsed.
The 30-day preventive suspension order against Partas will still be served as the company again failed to submit the required dashcam video, Lizada said.
A Partas representative went to the LTFRB before the 12 noon deadline on Tuesday, but submitted CCTV footage showing the bus driver and the passengers inside the bus, and not of the actual collision.
