ILIGAN CITY — Four people were killed when a house in an Iligan City subdivision was partially razed just past midnight on Tuesday.
Artemio Bilang, 56; his wife Allen, 55; Arlen May, 23; and Marah Allen, 14, were found dead by firefighters. The four were occupants of the house in Dona Maria Subdivision, Barangay Tubod.
According to Fire Officer 3 Ruel Lee, an investigator for the Bureau of Fire Protection in Iligan, the victims may have died due to smoke inhalation.
Lee said the fire could have been caused by faulty wiring, because he saw water dripping on an electrical outlet in one of the rooms.
Witness John Amigable said he called fire officials and other residents to help stop the fire once he saw the Bilangs' house in flames. He thought he heard something burning in his backyard.
Fire officials are investigating the incident.
