MANILA—The state weather bureau confirmed the tropical-cyclone names it will use next year.

The PAGASA uses 4 sets of typhoon names in rotation.
Each set has 10 auxiliary, or "reserve" names, used in case the number of tropical cyclones exceeds 25 in a year.
The first storm recorded in 2019 was Amang, which entered the Philippine area of responsibility on January 19.
