National Capital Region Police Office Director Chief Superintendent Oscar Albayalde said no killings were recorded in Metro Manila from Christmas eve until Christmas day.

Albayalde said no drug war-related deaths were also recorded from Saturday to Sunday.

He added that the NCRPO will remain in full alert status until February because of big events that will happen in January such as the annual Feast of the Black Nazarene, Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings and the country’s hosting of the Miss Universe pageant.

As of December 20, a total of 2,755 drug fatalities have been recorded since May 10, data from the ABS-CBN Investigative and Research Group shows.

Of this number, 1,536 were killed in police operations while 1,030 were killed by unidentified assailants.
