MANILA—The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Monday urged passengers to postpone travel to Visayas and Mindanao as tropical storm Ursula approaches landfall.
Following the advisory of PAGASA raising Signal no. 1 in the provinces of Sorsogon and Southern Leyte, RORO vessels cannot accommodate buses to travel to Bicol Region going to Samar, Leyte, and Mindanao, according to PCG spokesperson Armand Balilo.
Balilo added that they will be coordinating with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board to control the flocking of passengers in Matnog Port.
If buses from Metro Manila will still arrive, the ports will be filled with passengers who will be stranded until PAGASA lifts storm signals.—Report from Dexter Ganibe, ABS-CBN News
