MANILA— Filipinos have yet to experience the 5-minute travel from Cubao to Makati as promised by President Rodrigo Duterte this year, Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said in a statement.
"For December, kalimutan na muna natin; unless you want to ride on a chopper?" said Panelo.
Panelo explained that the conditions are not yet set for the shortcut travel but cannot explain the exact set of standards needed.
He said the president’s term is not yet ending and there is still time to execute the plan.
Duterte has promised faster travel from Cubao to Makati due to the heavy traffic congestion experienced by residents in Metro Manila.
On the other hand, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said it is "mathematically impossible" to attain such fast travel proposed by the president.
