ILOILO CITY -- A massive power interruption was experienced in Iloilo and neighboring provinces Aklan, Antique and Capiz Sunday night.
Residents and small business owners who are busy gearing up for Christmas were dismayed by the sudden and unannounced power interruption.
Electric cooperatives and distribution companies in the entire Panay region took to social media to explain the incident.
According to them, the power interruption was caused by the shutting down of three plants of Panay Energy Development Corporation.
Based on the post of Antique Electric Cooperative, Inc. , the area control center of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines encountered a problem.
Power supply has yet to be restored in said areas.
