A total of P1.6 million worth of endangered marine species were seized in Estancia, Iloilo on Wednesday morning.
Around 19 kilos of dried seahorse and sea dragon, and 16 sacks of nautilus shells were confiscated by the police.
Authorities said the marine products were allegedly sold illegally.
Under Republic Act 10654, capturing marine animals considered as endangered species are prohibited.
The Municipal Agriculture Office and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources launched the operation against BB-Marine, a firm allegedly owned by a businessman named Steve Lim from Bacolod City.
Employees Rosalie Medina, Jovin Mangubat and Rolito Torres were arrested in the operation.
