MANILA – The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) on Friday said seven transmission lines and facilities were affected by the onslaught of Tropical Storm Vinta, which made landfall over Davao Oriental before dawn.
In an advisory, the NCGP said one transmission line in the Visayas and six across Mindanao were among those affected, causing outages in storm-hit areas.
It said it would begin “inspection and restoration” of affected lines “as soon as the weather allows."
“Please note that loss of power may be caused by affected transmission facilities of NGCP or distribution facilities of local distribution utilities or electric cooperatives. Specific cities and municipalities affected by the power interruptions are determined by concerned distribution utilities, unless the outage affects the entire franchise area," the NGCP said.
