ILOILO - As part of their vow to change the image of their group, members of a gang in Iloilo City initiated an outreach activity for poor families and children in the city.

"Moncarl" and "Miggy" are members of Raising Up My People Against God's Enemies (RUMPAGE, Inc.), a group that has been tagged in several incidents in the city.

Miggy, the former president of the group, admits the involvement of their members in pistol-whipping a person inside a restaurant. They have also been involved in a commotion and gang war inside Smallville Complex, the city's night life hub in Mandurriao district.

The group, likewise, was tagged in a grenade explosion near the property of Senator Franklin Drilon's nephew in Barangay East Baluarte, an allegation Miggy denies.

To prove that they want to change their group's image, RUMPAGE initiated a medical mission in Barangay Calajunan.

According to Miggy, they do not want to spend their money on useless things such as paying for bail when they get arrested for causing trouble.

He added that Senior Supt. Zacharias Canieso, Iloilo City Police Office director, and other officers of Mandurriao police, convinced them to stop causing trouble in the city.

Moncarl and Miggy also appealed to other gangs in Iloilo City to take a break from useless fights and start contributing something good to the community.
