MANILA- Former Masbate Rep. Rizalina Lanete, who is facing plunder and graft charges in connection with the Priority Development Assistance Fund scam, was allowed by the Sandiganbayan 4th Division to spend Christmas in Hong Kong.
The anti-graft court granted her motion for leave to travel abroad and allowed her to leave the Philippines on Dec. 22, 2018 but she should be back by Dec. 27, 2018.
In the charges filed by the Office of the Ombudsman, Lanete allegedly misused her P112 million PDAF through the bogus non-government organizations of businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles.
In the decision of the court signed by Division Chairperson Alex Quiroz and Associate Justices Reynaldo Cruz and Bayani Jacinto, Lanete was given the usual conditions such as reporting to the court personally within 5 days from her date of return.
Her travel is also limited to Hong Kong and “not any other place.”
