MANILA - Rain over Palawan was expected to gradually weaken as tropical depression Urduja continued to move west-southwest over the West Philippine Sea, state weather bureau PAGASA said late Monday night.
In its 11 p.m. bulletin, PAGASA said Urduja was 145 kilometers west northwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
It had maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts of up to 60 kph.
Tropical cyclone signal warning no. 1 was up over Palawan.
PAGASA said Urduja would move west southwest at 18 kph. It was expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility on Tuesday morning or afternoon.
The state weather bureau was continuing to monitor a low pressure area outside PAR. It was last spotted at 1,435 kms east of Mindanao as of 8 p.m. Monday.
