MANILA - Two councilors from Subic, Zambales were wounded after unidentified assailants shot them in a highway attack Monday night, police said Tuesday.

The victims, Sangguniang Bayan members Roberto Delgado and Elizaldy Rocafor, were on board a Toyota Fortuner when gunmen on board a red vehicle attacked them at the national highway in neighboring San Narciso town, said investigators.

The assailants sped off north from the crime scene in Barangay Siminublan, police added, citing information from a witness.

Delgado, who was wounded on the neck, was still under observation on Tuesday, while Rocafor was in stable condition.

Subic Mayor Jay Khonghun offered a P300,000 reward for any information that would lead to the capture of the assailants.

Investigators have yet to identify a possible motive in the incident. -- Report from Trisha Mostoles, ABS-CBN News
