Tropical storm "Urduja" slightly weakened as it crossed the northern part of Samar, state weather bureau PAGASA said in its 11 p.m. bulletin.
Urduja, whose eye was spotted in the vicinity of San Jose de Buan town in Samar at 10 p.m., packs maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 110 kph
It is forecast to move west at a speed of 13 kph.
Scattered to widespread rains will continue over Central and Western Visayas, Bicol, southern Quezon, Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, the Mindoro provinces, Marinduque, Romblon and Cuyo Islands.
Rains are expected to prevail over Northern Palawan including Calamian Group of islands.
Residents of these areas must undertake appropriate measures against flooding and landslides and coordinate with their local disaster risk reduction and management offices.
Meanwhile, rains over Eastern Visayas are forecast to gradually weaken.
Sea travel remains risky over the seaboards of areas under tropical cyclone warning signals.
