For humanitarian considerations, the Sandiganbayan First Division has granted former Sen. Bong Revilla's request to visit his ailing father on Friday afternoon.
In a resolution, the Sandiganbayan authorized Revilla's visit to former senator Ramon Revilla Sr., who is confined at the Intensive Care Unit of St. Luke's Medical Center in Bonifacio Global City because of severe sepsis secondary to pneumonia.
The former senator was given six hours with his father, from 2:00 p.m. until 8 p.m., subject to certain conditions set by the court.
Revilla, however, is restricted to St. Luke's and is not allowed to go anywhere else. The Philippine National Police (PNP) has been tasked to provide his personal escorts and necessary security measures.
Revilla is also not allowed use any means of communication or talk to the media.
The former senator originally requested for time away from detention to spend time with his family on Christmas day. But he withdrew this request after learning about his father's condition, instead submitting an urgent motion for a six-hour visit to Revilla Sr.
Revilla is currently detained at the PNP Custodial Center for a plunder case over his alleged participation in the alleged pork barrel scam.
