MANILA - Tropical storm "Urduja" has slightly intensified and is expected to make landfall over Eastern Samar on Friday, state weather bureau PAGASA said Thursday.
In its 5 p.m. bulletin, PAGASA said Urduja is packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph.
The tropical storm was last spotted 85 kms east southeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.
The following tropical cyclone warning signals have been raised in these areas:
SIGNAL NO. 2:
-Northern Cebu including Bantayan Island
Scattered to widespread rains, meanwhile, are expected over Visayas and the regions of Bicol, Caraga, and Northern Mindanao within 24 hours, PAGASA said.
Urduja is forecast to weaken into a low pressure area by Monday as it approaches the Masbate area.
PAGASA also advised fisherfolk and those with small seacraft not to venture out over the eastern seaboard of the Bicol Region and seaboards of the Visayas due to moderate to rough seas.
