Hundreds of passengers in Northern Cebu ports were stranded following the cancellation of boat trips due to rough seas brought about by tropical storm Urduja.

On Thursday, a fast craft bound for Camotes Island in Northern Cebu sailed back to the Cebu City port amid huge waves.

A total of 44 passengers and 19 crew members on board were told to disembark as the sea vessel reached the port terminal.

Captain Neil Cañoneo said that did not risk pursuing the trip due the weather disturbance.

All passengers were given a refund on their tickets.
