MANILA - Family, friends and fans of the late Fernando Poe Jr. gathered at the Manila North Cemetery Thursday to commemorate the 13th death anniversary of Philippine cinema's king of action.

Susan Roces, Poe's widow, and his daughter Senator Grace Poe, along with their family and relatives offered a Mass while the actor's fans offered white and red flowers.

Some of the fans who visited Poe's grave early morning came from far away provinces like Quezon. They said it has been a tradition for them to visit "Da King" every year.

After the Mass, Roces and Senator Poe gave Christmas gifts to children who live at the Manila North Cemetery.

FPJ, who would have been 78 years old today, died of multiple organ failure in 2004 after he lost his presidential bid to to former President and now-Pampanga Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

The legendary actor appeared in over 200 movies including the most popular ones like "Ang Panday", "Muslim .357", "Dito sa Pitong Gatang", "Iyo ang Tondo, Kanya ang Cavite", and "Ang Probinsyano".
