They never had the chance to celebrate.

Two nursing graduates died in a car crash in Cebu City Tuesday, the same day they passed the Nurse Licensure Examination.

Alexa Eddy Carvajal and Louis Ferolin passed away just hours before the results were released. The two were on their way home from a "despedida" party at dawn Tuesday when their SUV rammed onto a flyover in Barangay Luz.

Ferolin, who was behind the wheel at the time, and Carvajal, were declared dead upon arrival at the Cebu City Medical Center. They had passed on when results of the examinations were released Tuesday night.

Carvajal's father Eddy said he still feels the pain after learning that her second daughter passed the nursing board exams. Her mother Daphnie, meanwhile, said there is no need to point blame, as her daughter and Ferolin have been close friends since college.

"It would not also bring back the life," she said.

The Ferolin family declined an interview with ABS-CBN News.

According to the Cebu City Transportation Office, no vehicle was approaching the SUV as it went up the flyover.

Authorities reminded the public to be extra careful on the road this holiday and rainy season.
