Two people were injured in a fire that razed 15 houses in Barangay Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro past midnight Tuesday.
Resident Wilbert Siesmondo sustained minor wounds while he was fleeing from his burning house, while a fireman also sustained minor injuries while trying to put out the blaze at Lapaz 2, Kolambog.
The fire started from the second floor of Siesmondo's home and spread to nearby properties, razing at least 15 houses and several establishments, fire officials said.
"When I woke up, our house was already filled with smoke. We immediately ran outside because the fire was spreading quickly," Seismondo said.
Estimated cost of damage due to the fire has reached P1.5 million.
Officials have yet to determine the cause of the blaze.
