MANILA - Security forces killed the "6th most wanted criminal" in Maguindanao in an operation in Datu Odin Sinsuat town on Monday, officials confirmed.
Ebrahim Mudzol "Dalupang" Ali was killed by military troops in Sitio Kiniputan in Barangay Poblacion Dalican around 5 p.m. during an operation to serve an arrest warrant on the suspect.
Authorities said that while the military was approaching the area, Ali shot at the arresting officers, which prompted them to fire back, leading to the suspect's death.
"Ali was the 6th most wanted criminal in Maguindanao and was involved in carnapping and the series of killings in Maguindanao," said Maj. Gen. Diosdado Carreon, commander of Joint Task Force Central.
A caliber .45 firearm with one magazine loaded with seven rounds of ammunition was seized from Ali.
The suspect's body and gun were turned over to Datu Odin Sinsuat Police Station for proper disposition.
