MANILA - The Sandiganbayan 3rd Division has set the first day of plunder trial for former senator Juan Ponce Enrile on February 19, 2019 after a delay in the proceedings brought about by his motion for bill of particulars filed before the Supreme Court.
The defense and prosecution terminated last Friday their pre-trial conference where issues such as pieces of evidence to be presented during trial are settled by both parties.
According to 3rd Division Clerk of Court Atty. Dennis Pulma, the trial will be held every Tuesday and Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
The plunder case of Enrile in connection with the Priority Development Assistance Fund scam was initially stalled but resumed after the court denied his motion to quash last year.
Enrile’s plunder case has lagged behind the cases of former senators Jinggoy Estrada and Bong Revilla who was recently acquitted of plunder.
