ILOILO CITY - The children of slain alleged drug group leaders Melvin and Meriam Odicta, and their family lawyer were arrested Thursday morning after alleged illegal drugs, firearms, and explosives were seized from their home in Barangay Malipayon.
A total of 19 big sachets of suspected shabu, a caliber .45 pistol, a caliber .22 pistol, a fragmentation grenade, and around P340,000 were taken by authorities during the raid.
Odicta brothers Melvin Jr., Darryl and Michael were charged with conspiracy in the maintenance of the family's drug den, while Atty. Marvin Lumbo, the family's real estate lawyer, was arrested for "obstruction of justice."
The lawyer kept on intervening during the search operation and insisted that the recovered money should not be marked as evidence, police investigators said.
All suspects denied the allegations and said that the illegal items found inside their home were "planted".
The late Odicta couple denied their alleged ties to the illegal drug trade earlier this year, before they were gunned down in September.
