MANILA - The Philippine National Police on Tuesday defended the police's composite sketch of the suspect in the killing of auction firm leader Dominic Sytin in Subic.
The composite sketch released last Friday only revealed the alleged gunman's eyes because of the cap and face mask he is wearing.
Netizens have poked fun at the artist's sketch, saying it is useless in identifying the suspect.
PNP chief Director General Oscar Albayalde explained that they based the sketch on the testimony of someone who claimed to have witnessed the incident.
"Bu this person is wearing a mask. How can we make an artist’s sketch na gagawa na lang ng kung ano-anong itsura?" said the country's top cop.
The police, in the composite sketch, said the male suspect is around 40 years old, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 tall with chubby built, fair complexion and black hair.
CCTV footage showed the auction firm leader falling along the driveway of Lighthouse Hotel at around 7:30 p.m. after he was shot by the lone assailant.
The footage obtained from the hotel's CCTV system further showed the gunman heading closer to Sytin to fire two more shots to his head, killing him on the spot.
The family of slain businessman said they will offer a P1-million reward for the arrest of his killer.-report from Zhander Cayabyab, ABS-CBN News
