CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY - A 10-wheeler wing van loaded with crates of mangoes and bananas fell into a ravine early Saturday morning.
The truck allegedly lost its brakes, prompting the driver to ram it into a mango tree growing at the edge of a ravine around 4 a.m. in Upper Puerto.
Jonathan Paulo del Rosario, incident commander of Oro Rescue, said the driver died while two passengers were immediately brought to the hospital.
Rescuers were seen trying to free two other passengers who were pinned inside the vehicle.
Medical personnel stabilized the condition of the passengers during the ongoing rescue operation.
