CAGAYAN DE ORO - The victims of the ambush on the Presidential Security Group (PSG) in Barangay Matampay, Marawi City have been transferred to a private hospital in Cagayan de Oro City on Wednesday.
Seven PSG members and two soldiers were wounded after their vehicle was hit by an improvised explosive device while on their way to the Army's 103rd Infantry Brigade Headquarters.
Four victims were initially airlifted 12 p.m. on Tuesday using a presidential chopper from Marawi City to Cagayan de Oro City for immediate hospital care.
One of them was reported to be severely wounded.
Past 6 p.m., five other victims were transferred to Cagayan de Oro from a hospital in Iligan City.
Corporal Vincent Panisa of the PSG sustained wounds in his legs after the ambush.
He said they could not determine how many perpetrators attacked them.
Another wounded PSG personnel, PFC James Gonzales, said they were surprised when an explosion took place on the road side.
After the explosion, several shots were fired at them.
"Paakyat kami eh tapos biglang sumabog sa gilid namin sa likod after that pumutok na ‘yung kalaban", said Gonzales.

Authorities believed that members of the Maute group were responsible for the attack.
