APARRI - Two fishermen were rescued after their motorboat capsized Tuesday morning in waters off Cagayan province.
The fishermen, Melchor Ancheta, 48, and Ramram Dy, 21, were floating for almost two hours in the waters off Aparri, Cagayan.
The two are residents of Barangay Baua, Gonzaga, Cagayan.
According to Chief Inspector Pepito Mendoza, Jr. of the Aparri police, residents saw two men floating near the shore in Barangay Punta, Aparri.
Authorities immediately responded and mounted a rescue.
Investigators said the two fishermen set sail Sunday afternoon from Gonzaga, Cagayan, but encountered huge waves when they arrived in Aparri.
They were brought ashore by waves near Barangay Punta.
The two fishermen were reported to be in good health.
