MANILA—State weather bureau PAGASA said late Monday night that tropical storm Tomas has weakened into tropical depression.
In its 11 p.m. bulletin, PAGASA said Tomas is expected to weaken further into a low-pressure area (LPA) within 12 to 24 hours.
Moving north-northwest at a speed of 15 kph,Tomas is packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kph, with gusts of up to 60 kph.
PAGASA said Tomas was last located some 1,035 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes.
It is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday, November 28.
PAGASA warned that sea travel remains risky over the northern seaboard of northern Luzon and the eastern seaboards of Luzon and Visayas due to rough seas.
