MAYNILA - Authorities from the Quezon City Veterinary Department seized more than 30 kilograms of mishandled frozen meat in several public markets in the city Tuesday.
Officials said several meat vendors were selling frozen meat that were not placed in freezers or chillers.
Ana Marie Cabel, head of the city's veterinary department, said improperly stored frozen meat could be contaminated with bacteria that could spread disease.
"Kung gusto mo talaga ng frozen, pumili ka na lang doon sa mga naka-freeze na karne o 'yung nasa meat shop," she said.
The mishandled meat, she said, will be buried in a "condemnation pit" by authorities. Arra Perez, ABS-CBN News
