Responding to protesters irate over the burial of late dictator Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani, President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday night offered to quit the presidency if the two questions he posed will not be answered yes.
"I will gladly, and happy even, to step down and relinquish my post if you can answer in the negative these two key questions. Was the late Ferdinand Marcos a president? Was he a soldier? Never mind about a hero, you had document something like that. To document heroism requires history," Duterte said.
He arrived in Davao City a few minutes before midnight on Wednesday after attending the APEC Leaders’ Summit in Lima, Peru.
