CAGAYAN - A lineman from Southern Leyte Electric Cooperative (SOLECO) died of electrocution while fixing a power line in Barangay Natappian West, Solana, Cagayan.

Jomar Betonio, 30, was fixing power lines destroyed by Typhoon "Lawin" when he was electrocuted. Another lineman, Reymund Guilao, 28, from Maasin, Southern Leyte was also affected by a downed power line and is now undergoing treatment in a hospital in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

Solana Police Chief Inspector Ronnie Labbao said reports showed the source of the electric current that electrocuted Betonio was from the generators of residents.

Betonio left a wife and three small children.

The Cagayan Electric Cooperative 1 has promised assistance to Betonio and Guilao.

Betonio's remains were already brought to Southern Leyte on Monday noon.
