MANILA - A bomb threat forced employees at the Philippine National Bank (PNB) Financial Center in Pasay City to evacuate Tuesday afternoon.
In a statement, PNB officials said that around 2:10 p.m., an unknown number sent a text message saying a bomb will explode anytime within the financial center compound.
Bomb experts were called in to conduct a bomb sweep. After nearly three hours, the vicinity was declared safe of any explosives.
Making bomb jokes or spreading false information concerning bombs is illegal under Presidential Decree No. 1727.
People found guilty of the offense can face imprisonment of up to 5 years and/or a fine of up to P40,000.
