Authorities have rescued an eight-year-old girl from a suspected cybersex operation in Mabalacat City, Pampanga.

The girl's uncle and aunt who were allegedly responsible for exploiting the victim, were arrested during the raid.

The joint operation was conducted by the Women and Children Protection Center of the Philippine National Police, International Justice Mission, Mabalacat City Police Station, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

"Yung bata binubugaw mismo ng tito at tita niya sa mga foreigner (The child was exploited by her aunt and uncle to foreigners)," said Insp. Renz Principe of the Mabalacat police.

Acting on a search warrant, authorities found a sex toy, laptop, web camera, and some condoms inside the den.

"Nagawa lang po namin dahil sa pera. Pinapakita lang namin siya pero hindi pinapagshow (We did it out of poverty. We only show her, but she was not engaged in explicit acts)," the aunt said.

The raid came after the Philippine government were tipped by its British counterpart.

DSWD also took the couple's three children - ages four, three, and a four-month-old baby - who were considered at risk of sexual exploitation. Charges of child abuse will be filed against the couple.
