MANILA - Authorities have filed charges against four people caught with 45 kilograms of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) valued at P225-million in a drug raid in Quezon City Tuesday.
The Philippine National Police - Anti-Illegal Drugs Group (PNP-AIDG) charged Eduardo Dario, Rea May Libiran, Gemma Rose Codera, and John Rey Bungcasan on Tuesday night before the Department of Justice (DOJ) with possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act (RA) 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act).
The respondents were subjected to inquest proceedings conducted by Senior Assistant State Prosecutor Roseanne Balauag. The inquest will continue today, after the respondents manifested that they will be availing the services of a private counsel.
The respondents, whose drug operations reportedly cover the Metro Manila and Calabarzon areas, were arrested at an apartment on Banawe Street in Quezon City in a joint operation by the Quezon City Police District, PNP-AIDG, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
