13 nabbed during 'Oplan Pokemon' in Cebu

Thirteen people were arrested Tuesday evening in what Cebu City Police Office called "Oplan Pokemon," in which authorities launch operations against illegal activities within a chosen barangay.

Members of San Nicholas Police station made rounds in Barangay Pasil and Suba and confiscated five medium packs and 20 small packs of suspected shabu, with a total worth P650,000.

About 40 illegal gambling machines and a .38-caliber pistol were confiscated.

Suspect Glora Cabanday, who was caught possessing medium packs of illegal drugs, however denied peddling drugs.

Cabanday, along with Renao Inot, Elvira Inot, Jaymar Miralles, Roselo Tumulak, and Melsequicdeck Olofernes will be charged with selling of illegal drugs while Riel Gador, Alfredo Boyboy, Jerrymie Paunillan, Noel Casanes and Wilfredo Lavarino will be charged of illegal gambling.

Meanwhile, the operation of members of the Pari-an Police Station's "Oplan Pokemon" resulted to the arrest of two suspected drug pushers who were caught in Sitio Acacia, Barangay Lorega San Miguel.

Suspects Raffy Gador and Eduardo Fedrado were nabbed with 25 small packs of suspected shabu amounting to P20,000.

According to Station Chief Sr. Insp. Dexter Basirgo, both suspects surrendered during their Oplan Tokhang.
