MANILA - A suspected bomber carrying a P1.2 million bounty on his head was killed in a police operation in Matalam, North Cotabato on Monday afternoon.
The slain suspect, Mohammad Nor Hassan, was an alleged member of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) tagged in a series of bomb attacks in Mindanao since 2006.
The Army's 602nd Brigade of the 6th Infantry Brigade and local policemen were supposed to serve an arrest warrant for Hassan in Barangay Central Malamote, but he allegedly attempted to trigger a bomb, forcing authorities to fire at him.
The suspect was rushed to a hospital but he was declared dead on arrival. -- Report from Lore Mae Andong, ABS-CBN News
