ILOCOS NORTE - A total of 412 inmates were beneficiaries of a medical and dental mission conducted at the Ilocos Norte Provincial Jail.
The medical mission was conducted by the Provincial Health Office and the Ilocos Norte Medical Society.
"We want them to feel that we care for them," Dr. Ederlina Callangan said.
Callangan added that cough, colds and skin diseases were the most common medical concerns among the inmates.
Inmates were also given free medicines and vitamins.
Doctors also collected sputum from the inmates for tuberculosis testing since the disease is infectious and deadly, but curable.
