A fish vendor died after he was shot by one of two men riding in tandem on a motorcycle in Iloilo City.

Witnesses said the unidentified victim was selling fish on board his pedicab when two men on a motorcycle approached him at Phase 6, Onyx Street, VML Subdivision and demanded for his "payment."

When the victim refused to pay, explaining that he already paid last week, the motorcycle's backrider suddenly shot him. The suspects then fled.

Policemen brought the victim to a nearby hospital but he died eventually.

Authorities are still verifying the identity of the victim including that of the suspects.

The victim allegedly told witnesses who first helped him that he knew who the assailants were.

The Scene of the Crime Operatives will conduct cross-matching of the recovered fragments and empty shell.

Meanwhile, another man was shot dead by riding in tandem assailants in Barangay South San Jose in Molo.

Law enforcers said the victim, Mark Mallon, surrendered during Oplan Tokhang and had started his rehabilitation yesterday.
