MANILA — President Rodrigo Duterte will call for another investigation into 2 members of his Cabinet who were found guilty of corruption by the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC), his spokesperson said Thursday.
The 2 officials were investigated starting February and the PACC recently handed its report to Duterte, said its commissioner, Greco Belgica.
"Papaimbestigahan iyan ni Presidente, i-validate niya iyon. May independent muna na validation," said Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo.
(The President will have that investigated, validated. There will be an independent validation.)
Belgica did not name the 2 Cabinet aides.
Duterte earlier said he would not tolerate even a “whiff” of corruption from any government employee.
