MANILA - An alleged illegal recruiter who victimized applicants who wish to work in Israel was arrested Wednesday in Muntinlupa City, police said.

Risony Dizon promised the victims a P75,000 salary as caregivers, according to Supt. Roque Merdegia Jr., chief of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Anti Transnational Crime Unit (CIDG-ATCU).

Dizon was caught in the act of receiving the P60,000 boodle money from one of the victims during a fake pre-departure orientation seminar.

CIDG said the suspect is not licensed to recruit anyone and deploy workers overseas.

Merdegia said the victims filed a complaint in their office and shared that they were “recruited” via social media sites like Facebook and Instagram.

Dizon said he is a condominium sales agent and was also duped by another recruiter who promised to give him a commission for every successful application.

The suspect will be charged with illegal recruitment and large scale estafa.
